From Unst to Fair Isle and from Bressay to Foula our island is literally strewn with them, they are absolutely everywhere, and the sheer numbers of them is a testament in itself to the people of Shetland who at one time would have filled these absolutely full of character ‘Peerie kirks’. Now however things have changed and although some of them can proclaim to be doing alright there are as many, if not more, that can’t.
We at ‘Just Worship’ have a passion for them and it is our aim to visit as many as the Lord will allow us. We simply want to go out in recognition of how important these houses of God still are, we want to meet up and fellowship with those faithful servants who are upholding their local chapels, to hopefully encourage them and to show them that we care but most importantly of all, to share the word of God and lift up the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in an act of togetherness.
We have compiled these brief reports of our excursions which we hope you will enjoy and perhaps find useful but most of all hopefully encourage ‘YOU’ to do the same.
